Believe it or not, I’d never performed at a hair salon before Saturday’s set at the swanky M Bird Studio during the Culver City Artwalk. This last minute show came together quickly - We had just wrapped on a video shoot for Ocelot Robot and my good friends BotNasty, The Reel, and the Cine-Slayer himself came with me to the salon to support. The folks at M Bird were extremely welcoming – a big thanks to Jen & Susannah for allowing me to play, John for letting me use his gear, and the incomparable Michael Kang for connecting me with all of these new friends. With several artists’ works for sale on the walls, a diverse mix of Westside locals, free wine, and homemade cupcakes, this brand new salon promises to be a hub for many great events in the future…
