Razorface
Recap: Acoustic set at Good Hurt - Saturday, September 24, 2011

I love the Good Hurt.  In many ways, it’s been the host to my live music develpment in Los Angeles.  My band Ocelot Robot played our first gig (in public) there back in 2009 and we return home to the Hurt anytime we can.  They were also the first to let me do the Razorface thing and they are currently hosting a killer battle of the bands. I imagine running a club is a tough task, and I tip my hat to the Hurt for supporting westside music - they always have an eye toward the experience of a live performance, something a lot of other venues could learn from…

Last night’s set was a blast, despite a pretty dark set of tunes - that’s just how I like it. We even managed invent a new shot called “Simply Green.”  Here’s the rest of the menu:

1. “Go Away” - Elvis Costello

2. “The Other Side of Summer” = Elvis Costello

3. “The Titan Who Cried Like A  Baby” - Monster Magnet

4. “Everybody Cryin’ Mercy” - Mose Allison

5. “Shiseido” - The Katies

6. “One Thing Real’ - Dan Bern

7. “Kill Zone” - T-Bone Burnette

8. “Livin’ Small” - Onelinedrawing

Upcoming show:
